Our Story

Born from Exhaustion. Built for Restoration.

Be TIRED Foundation exists because someone was tired enough to do something about it.

How We Started

When Being Tired Became a Calling

Be TIRED Foundation was born from a deeply personal place — the exhaustion of watching families cycle through crisis without a clear way out. Our founder witnessed firsthand how childhood trauma, domestic violence, fatherlessness, and lack of support systems trap generations in the same painful patterns.

What began as a single act of compassion — opening a door, offering a meal, making a call — grew into a structured, faith-informed nonprofit committed to breaking those cycles for good. We serve York, PA and Baltimore, MD because these are the communities that shaped us.

Today, Be TIRED Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization with programs spanning Tobi's Home (transitional housing), Spreading W.I.N.G.S. (youth mentoring), and GINO Giants (fatherhood restoration). Every program is built on the belief that people don't need to be fixed — they need to be supported.

Our Mission

To bridge the gap between crisis and independence by providing transitional housing, mentoring, and empowerment programs that restore hope and rebuild families.

Our Vision

A world where no family is trapped by circumstance — where every woman, child, teenager, and father has access to the stability, guidance, and community they need to thrive.

The Name Behind the Mission

T.I.R.E.D. Is Not a Weakness — It's a Starting Point

We chose the name deliberately. When you are tired of the cycle, tired of the struggle, tired of feeling unseen — that exhaustion is the beginning of change. Each letter in TIRED represents a pillar of our work.

T

Transitional

We meet people in the gap — between crisis and stability — and walk with them across it. Tobi's Home, our transitional housing program, is not a warehouse; it is a bridge.

I

Intervention

Timely, compassionate intervention changes outcomes. We show up before situations become irreversible, offering resources, referrals, and a human presence.

R

Restoration

Healing is not linear, but it is possible. Our programs create space for people to restore their sense of self, their family bonds, and their confidence.

E

Empowerment

We equip, not enable. Life skills, education support, career development, and financial literacy give participants the tools to sustain their own independence.

D

Direction

Purpose is powerful. Mentorship, goal-setting, and community connection give participants a clear, forward-looking path — not just a place to stay.

What We Believe

Our Core Values

Dignity First

Every person who walks through our doors is treated with unconditional respect and dignity — regardless of their circumstances.

Community as Foundation

Healing happens in relationship. We build genuine community among participants, staff, and volunteers.

Accountability with Grace

We hold high expectations while extending grace. Growth requires both honesty and compassion.

Whole-Person Care

We address physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual needs — because lasting change requires the whole person.

Trusted, Transparent, Accountable
